Play therapy – Play therapy is an essential tool when working with children. Play therapy can support children’s emotions and help them to understand more about their own thoughts and feelings. Play therapy enables a child to connect with their counsellor and begin to built a relationship of trust which is essential to ensuring the child feels safe. Children can use play therapy to re-enact or play out traumatic or difficult experiences in order to make sense of the past and cope better in the future
Mindfulness – Mindfulness practices can help us to relate to and increase our ability to regulate emotions, decrease stress, anxiety and depression. Mindfulness is a helpful tool that can help us to learn to control our feelings which can help reduce anxiety.
